Half Marathon Training
Beginner & Intermediate Training Programs
Have you dreamt of being a half marathon runner but weren't sure you could do it? You absolutely can! We've partnered with Active at Altitude to be the official half marathon training partner of Vacation Races.
Active at Altitude provides 2 FREE training plan options for each race in our National Park Half Marathons series, a Beginner Program (16-weeks) and an Intermediate Program (12-weeks). Don't worry After you sign up, these programs will be sent to you when it is time to begin.
New training app coming for 2022!
Your free training plans are getting an upgrade! During 2022 we'll be rolling out a new way to receive your training plans: as a PDF download with an option to upgrade and use our new training app (available for iPhone and Android users).
Note: the training app is only available for the National Park Series Half Marathons, and is not available for any of the Ultra trail half marathons.
While we work on upgrading all the programs, you'll still receive your training program via email from Terry when it is time to start training - 16 weeks from race day for beginner programs and 12 weeks from race day for intermediate programs.

We've also partnered with Stephanie Weigel on a structured training program to help you get ready for your first 50K (and beyond).

She enjoys sharing her passion for trail running, especially with newcomers just discovering the sport, and has been kind enough to create a 4 month training plan geared towards the first time 50K runner.
