Questions or Comments?

  • Kim says:

    No more Florida race(s)?

    • Kaelee Clifford says:

Hi Kim – Short answer – no. It’s possible the Everglades Half Marathon will be back in the future but it is not on the schedule as of now.

  • Sheila says:

No more double’s (Teton/Yellowstone; Shenandoah/Great Smoky Mtns)? I would have expected participants to be more willing to travel if they could get two races in during the trip, but it looks like these races are asynchronous now.

    • Kaelee Clifford says:

Hi Sheila – The Black Bear Double will still be offered (the Great Smoky Mountain 5k and half) but not the half marathon doubles for the next couple years. However, they might be back in the coming years!

  • Lauren says:

Very bummed that you guys are getting rid of doing the back to back half marathons. It was perfect this year doing the yellowstone/teton halves and staying the entire week for the races.

    • Ryan Jenkins says:

      They’ll overlap every 3rd year.
      2018 – Teton & Yellowstone
      2019 – Teton only
      2020 – Yellowstone only
      2021 – Teton & Yellowstone

      • Greg says:

Hey Ryan! Thanks for letting us know about the overlap in 2021. Would 2021 be a Caldera Triple medal year? I have been wanting to do that for a while.

        • Kaelee Clifford says:

Hi Greg – There will be a Caldera Triple medal the year both races are held.

        • Anna Basso says:

Greg- in case you hadn’t gotten the update- we added Grand Teton back into the mix for 2020. This means it will be back to back with Yellowstone. Now that Grand Teton has a 5K as well, we’ve retired the Caldera Triple and now have a Grand Quad (includes both half marathons and both 5K’s)!

      • Karen Rogers says:

Thanks for the heads up. I am coming from south Alabama and am looking for a back to back race. I hate having to wait until 2021 but … it is what it is.

        • Anna Basso says:

Hey Karen, in case you hadn’t heard- we added Grand Teton back into the mix for 2020. This means it will be back to back with Yellowstone. Now that Grand Teton has a 5K as well, we’ve retired the Caldera Triple and now have a Grand Quad (includes both half marathons and both 5K’s)!

  • Denise says:

Didn’t you also have back-to-back Utah races? Logged into the site to look for that because my husband and I were talking about doing that in 2019. Hope the doubles come back soon.

    • Kaelee Clifford says:

Hi Denise – There was the Coyote Double, which was Grand Canyon and Lake Powell, but no back to backs in Utah.

  • Jane Gapud says:

I am disappointed about not being able to do the Grand Canyon and Lake Powell half races back-to-back. I was planning to cross these two off my list in 2019.

    • Kaelee Clifford says:

Hi Jane – It’s possible the double will return in the future but we’re not sure if and when, but it won’t be in 2019.

  • Jenn Spykerman says:

What about a race on the Olympic Peninsula?

  • Veronica says:

Was really hoping to do Glacier, Yellowstone, and Teton like it was offered this year — very bummed! When would all three be offered together again?

Also, Why isn’t there a link for the Grand Canyon Half Marathon up yet for 2019! I”m super excited to run that on the Park’s Centennial!

    • Kaelee Clifford says:

Hi Veronica – We hope to offer the double again, possibly every third year. Keep an eye on this page for any announcements. Registration for the 2019 Grand Canyon race isn’t open yet. The link with go live once registration opens.

  • Claudia Tuori says:

What happened to the Everglades half?

  • Rita Dillon says:

Is there going to be Everglades race in the future?

  • Beth Hausl says:

Will there be a Grand Canyon Half Marathon in October 2019? Is it celebrating the National Park being open 100 years? I would love to do this!

  • Ty says:

Missed Coastal redwoods trailfest 2018, not on the calendar for 2019 or 2020, why is that?

    • Kaelee Clifford says:

Hi Ty – Unfortunately the low registration numbers from this year don’t warrant holding the event again next year.

      • Crystal says:

Kaelee, will it be back for 2021?? Had to cancel in 2018 for family emergency and super bummed it wasn’t back for 19 or 20 but I’m dying for this opportunity! TY

  • Steve says:

    Need more east coast races!

  • Kyle says:

Is your team looking at any new national parks to host half marathons?

    • Kaelee Clifford says:

Hi Kyle – We are always looking at new national parks but don’t have any new parks on the schedule for 2019.

  • Jerry says:

Are you going to change the picture of the medal design every year now?

  • Stephanie Jones says:

So, if I had paid to run the Teton & Yellowstone for last year but had to defer to 2019, how do I get a refund because you’re not having it that year? It’s the only way I can do these races. Can’t afford to take two different vacations just to run two races in the same area. I had written a few months ago but have yet to receive a reply. Thank you.

    • Kaelee Clifford says:

Hi Stephanie – The double will be back in 2021. You can hang on to your deferment code and use it then if you would like. If not, please email info@vacationraces.com and Kaelee will help you with a refund.

      • Stephanie Jones says:

I received a refund! Thank you so much! If the timing is right and I’m still physically able to run in 2021, I’ll definitely be there. I appreciate the quick response and wonderful customer service. Thanks again.

  • Ashlee says:

I just want to let you guys know that I think these National Park races are awesome! My family and I have decided to do one together every year. We only do the ones with a 5K included though. My husband does the half and our son and I will do the 5K. I hope you guys offer more options for the 5K/Half-Marathons in the future.

    • Anna Basso says:

Hi Ashley, now that Grand Teton has a 5K race involved AND it’s back on the calendar for 2020, that means you and your family can join us at the back to back Grand Teton & Yellowstone races next June. We hope you join us for those events!

  • Carri says:

I would really like to sign up for Glacier but also want to go to Banff. Do you have dates yet for Banff? Would be great to do both!

  • Marsha Marcano says:

Can you run Glacier/Yellowstone as back to back HMs in 2020?

    • Kaelee Clifford says:

Hi Marsha – Yellowstone and Glacier will both be held in 2020. However, they will most likely not be on back to back weekends. Due to the permitting process, we announce race dates following the current year’s race.

  • Jeremy Gray says:

Will you all ever come back to the Shenandoah valley ?

    • Kaelee Clifford says:

Hi Jeremy – Hopefully! But that race is not on the calendar in the next couple of years, unfortunately.

  • Lonna Gray says:

I’ve completed the four 5k’s races and they are the best. I’m hoping to continue to add 5k-10k’s as they become available. Are there plans to add more 5k’s. Thanks. Lonna Gray

    • Kaelee Clifford says:

Hi Lonna – We’re happy to year you enjoy the 5k races. We add them where it is logistically possible but that’s not every race we are able to do that.

  • JMc says:

What happened to the Shenandoah Half? Will it be back in coming years?

    • Kaelee Clifford says:

Hi JMc – The Shenandoah Half Marathon numbers were just not high enough to warrant holding the race every year. It’s possible it will come back in the future but it’s not on the calendar as of now.

  • Henry Ho says:

will Everglades and Shenandoah ever come back?

    • Kaelee Clifford says:

Hi Henry – Neither of those races are on our calendar in the next few years, unfortunately. We’re not sure if they will be coming back but if they do we will announce it here and on our Vacation Races Facebook page.

  • Melanie says:

Do you see having the Grand Canyon Half again in the future. I had talked my family into running in 2020 but see you are not having it:(

    • Kaelee Clifford says:

Hi Melanie – We’re just not sure – the permitting and logistics of the course this year were extremely difficult so we won’t be going back to that specific course. If we’re able to find another course that is accessible it’s a possibility but it’s not on the calendar for next year.

  • Vince Yeager says:

Your site is glitching. You click on the Global Adventures races and it comes up with the regular races. I.e. you click on Ireland, you get Mt Rushmore. Patagonia is Zion

    • Kaelee Clifford says:

Hi Vince – Thanks for the heads up. It is working now – let me know if you still have trouble with it.

      • Jessica Villarreal says:

I just tried to see Patagonia and it’s still connected to Zion.

        • Kaelee Clifford says:

Hi Jessica – Can you let me know where you are clicking from? When I go to vacationraces.com, and click on Patagonia it takes me to the Patagonia landing page. Thanks!

          • Lady Jane says:

From the calendar (vacationraces.com/calendar). Also the calendar has Ireland as May 2021 while the vacationraces.com/global-adventures/ says it’s June 2021. Which is correct?

          • Salem Stanley says:

Thanks for bringing that to our attention! We’ll get it changed. The correct date is June 2020.

          • Lady Jane says:

Glad I’m not the only one who mixes up Ireland and Iceland…

  • Gary says:

When I click on the link for 2019 Grand Teton it shows 2020. Will there not be a 2019 race?

  • Cheryl Klampe Van Hess says:

Anymore planned races in the Everglades, Florida?

    • Kaelee Clifford says:

Hi Cheryl – Right now, no. Our old course never really recovered from the hurricane and we don’t have a new course planned in the near future.

  • Patsy Cantor says:

    What about Shenandoah?

    • Kaelee Clifford says:

Hi Patsy – We’re not sure yet if we’ll be able to bring Shenandoah back. It’s not on the calendar for the next couple of years but if that changes we’ll announce it asap.

  • JOANNA says:

Please do another Grand Canyon race!! That one is on the top of my bucket list, and I was unable to do it last year.

    • Kaelee Clifford says:

Hi Joanna – We will if we can – all depends on permits! If the Grand Canyon Half Marathon will be held again we will announce it here, via email, and on our Vacation Races Facebook page.

  • Jenel says:

Are we bringing back the Everglades at any point? Or any other East Coast Races?

    • Kaelee Clifford says:

Hi Jenel – We don’t plan to bring back Everglades in the near future. We have our eye on Shendandoah again but it is not on the calendar yet.

  • Kyna says:

Is the 2020 Mt. Rainer officially canceled? The website for the race itself says updates are forthcoming.

  • Sergio says:

Have you ever thought about hosting a Death Valley Half Marathon event?
